Leaders of Rock is proud to announce the return of our group guitar workshops this coming school holidays!
Students will be revising basic open chords, as well as learning single note melodies. They will be also introduced to core concepts of music theory, and collaborate with each other through creative lyric writing.
Our case study for this workshop is: "It's A Long Way To The Top" by AC/DC
Appropriate for beginner and intermediate guitarists, and best suited for primary and secondary school students.
We run private music lessons during the term, and group music lessons throughout the whole year.
Private music lessons are through appointment only.
Group music lessons are run every Saturday from 2:00-2:30.

On Saturday 10 December, 2016, 13 students will sing and play guitar in front of their family and friends. They will choose their own songs to play, and will be assessed by our instructors on the day.
Their performances are followed by performances from their instructors, and a short awards ceremony.
It is unbelievable to see a group of young musicians get on the stage to perform in front of others.
Join us in an afternoon of wonderful music - a celebration for a year's hard work learning the craft of being a musician.
Leaders of Rock is proud to present our first Monthly Jam in August, held at Aesthetic Studios, Strathmore.
One hour of show-and-tell where all students present what they have learned so far, and one hour of theory.
This month's topic is all about rhythm, and will include:
- understanding the rhythm tree
- how to transcribe basic rhythms by ear
- how this applies to strumming and picking patterns
BYO guitar and amp.
We can't wait to see you there!
All guitar students welcome (past, previous and curious!)
It can be nervous going up on stage for the first time.
So we have partnered with Kensington Community Recreation Centre to host our Mock Performance, where all students get to perform in front of their peers.
This is a great opportunity for all students to perform their whole song / parts of their song in front of a comfortable audience. This performance will be filmed, so video feedback can be given in the following lessons.
It is optional for parents to attend, but all students should be there to support their peers.
Throughout the afternoon, numerous games will be played to maintain interest and encourage audience participation.
This Spring, we are returning to Aesthetic Studios to celebrate "Mashups"!
Youtube has brought light to singer-songwriters that are able to combine two or more songs into a medley, and connect with a larger audience.
As well as instrumental tuition, students will also receive training on group singing and lyric writing.
