End of 2017 - 3 Year Concert

Leaders of Rock has turned 3 in 2017!

In the last 3 years, we have taught over 80 students and led 5 teachers to lead rock and pop music in Melbourne.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much.

For the practice sessions. The lessons. The gigs. And let's not forget those car trips, broken strings and ocassional coffee runs.

We are celebrating by holding a 2 hour concert, and really would love you to attend and perform, regardless if you are past or present students. Prizes to be given out too.

Our venue, Mr Boogie Man, is the perfect intimate venue for musicians who are starting to perform. For the first time, you may be performing on a stage, all mic'd up in front of your family, friends and soon to be fans.

For others, this is a great time to reconnect with the community and build your audience.

Tickets are on sale online.

We hope to see you rockin out on stage with us!

End of 2016 - Solo Performance Concert

On Saturday 10 December, 2016, 13 students will sing and play guitar in front of their family and friends. They will choose their own songs to play, and will be assessed by our instructors on the day.

Their performances are followed by performances from their instructors, and a short awards ceremony.

It is unbelievable to see a group of young musicians get on the stage to perform in front of others.

Join us in an afternoon of wonderful music - a celebration for a year's hard work learning the craft of being a musician.

This month's topic is all about rhythm, and will include:

- understanding the rhythm tree

- how to transcribe basic rhythms by ear

- how this applies to strumming and picking patterns

BYO guitar and amp.

We can't wait to see you there!

End of Year Concert - Mock Performance

It can be nervous going up on stage for the first time.

So we have partnered with Kensington Community Recreation Centre to host our Mock Performance, where all students get to perform in front of their peers.

This is a great opportunity for all students to perform their whole song / parts of their song in front of a comfortable audience. This performance will be filmed, so video feedback can be given in the following lessons.

It is optional for parents to attend, but all students should be there to support their peers.

Throughout the afternoon, numerous games will be played to maintain interest and encourage audience participation.

Spring Intensive

This Spring, we are returning to Aesthetic Studios to celebrate "Mashups"!

Youtube has brought light to singer-songwriters that are able to combine two or more songs into a medley, and connect with a larger audience.

As well as instrumental tuition, students will also receive training on group singing and lyric writing.

Visit our registration page to find out more.
